In this post Tolu explains ISO Management Systems and the quality training course available at Trafford Ecology Park, a designated Site of Biological Importance just a few minutes from Salford Quays.
ISO Management Systems
ISO is a suite of management system standards for either environment, health and safety, energy, security and even data management. There are a wide range of options which business can adopt which are designed to help businesses drive continual improvement. It gives businesses a great systems structure through what’s known as the Plan-Do-Check process which helps to drive change in businesses.
As a Groundwork sustainability consultant I work businesses who are already engaged with ISO standards and are currently implementing those systems in their businesses. I work with managers on how to engage with their leadership teams, how to communicate across the business, how to recognize risk, how to evaluate risk and how to act on the things that they know need to be improved.
This year the Groundwork Sustainable Business Services team will be running a range of courses.
Firstly we’ll be running specifically a course on ISO 45001 which was introduced towards the end of 2018 specifically focused on Health and Safety Management Systems. This course is for any business that uses the old OHSAS 18001 standards as this cannot be taken forward after 2021 (*error in video). Preparations should be being made now to transition to ISO 45001 and we’re here to help you with this.
We also have ISO 40001 course focused on Environmental Management Systems. The new ISO 40001 standard came out in 2015 but it’s worth staying on top of the standards and reviewing how you should be managing and meeting the clause requirements.
And finally we’ll be delivering ISO 9001 course on Quality Management Systems; so if you need a bit of a refresher, perhaps on internal auditing, then this course is worth attending.
